I like the sentiment, but why didn’t he just use the first name?
Over the past few months, the relationship between Jerry Jones and Tony Romo has come into a much clearer focus. We’ve seen Jerry put the Cowboys in a tough spot in order to give Romo more time to think about retirement, and we’ve seen Romo offer Jones the courtesy of never playing for another team.
Now, Romo has decided to honor the relationship in a more permanent way; by naming his new son Jones.
Welcomed our third boy Jones Mccoy Romo into the world today! Ten fingers and ten toes. All healthy. Almost have my basketball team built pic.twitter.com/nO0DFXQKZK

Jones Mccoy Romo was born earlier today, and is happy and healthy. He’s the third son of Romo and his wife, which the quarterback joked about when he said he almost had his basketball team.
Listen, we don’t know that he named him after Jerry, but come on. Who else could it be?And even if he’s not named after Jones, Jerry definitely thinks he is and Tony can always say he is. That’s sure to curry favor with the big man in Dallas.
